Every monday night, a bunch of my moped friends get together and host a late night ride all around Nashville. It’s really fun to cruise around the city when not many people are on the streets. Every monday that i’m home, I try and make sure I go. Last night we had about 17 people riding. Good times!

Also, I sent over all the finished photos of Children 18:3 to the label and designer who will be working on the packaging. Once I see what photos were used, I will try and post a couple outtakes from the shoot. I am really excited to see what Jordan Butcher comes up with for a layout!

Here in Nashville yesterday, the weather was unbelievably nice! Spring feels like it’s here already and I couldn’t be more excited! If at all possible during warmer months, I try to make my Vespa my primary mode of transportation. Here are some photos I took with my iPhone yesterday.

Last week, I started a project I have been wanting to do for a while. I’m taking my vinyl records that I don’t own digitally and transferring them to my computer. Nerdy? Yes. If you have vinyl, it’s a really fun thing to do, a way to preserve your music and it’s a great way to enjoy a record from start to finish. One of the best things about listening back on your computer or iPod is that it still sounds like your listening to the actual vinyl. I’m sure some people clean up transfers and get rid of all the crackling. To me, thats part of the experience of listening to a vinyl record. I even make sure you can hear the needle drop when transferring. Lastly, if you collect vinyl and want to take nerdy to another level, visit RECORD NERD. HERE is my collection

So, if you collect vinyl and have a turntable with RCA outputs on the back, do your self a favor and transfer some vinyl! Other than your computer with a recording program (I use Garageband) and a turntable, all you need is a pre amp, some RCA cables and a RCA to 1/8th inch cable.

A while back, I posted a trailer for a documentary called One Nine Nine Four. It’s a film documenting the explosion of punk rock in the mid 90’s. The film has been pushed back due to music clearance issues. You can read more about it HERE. I am super excited about this documentary because this all went down when I was in high school and so much of it happened in California. I remember going to see shows of these bands all over LA and Orange County. One of my favorite shows was seeing Face To Face at The Palace (Now, The Avalon) in Hollywood. As a musician, this film covers so many bands that shaped the way I play music. Bands like Rancid, Green Day, Face To Face and many others. So many of these bands were huge reference points back when we in The Dingees recorded Armageddon Massive. Listening to records like Rancid’s …And Out Come The Wolves was even an influence for all the Supertones records, even if you can’t hear it, it’s there. So, it looks like One Nine Nine Four will come out in 2010, sometime, and I can’t wait to see a documentary of what was going on all around me in the mid 90’s!

Last week, I got to spend some time in the studio with my good buddies in House Of Heroes! I was asked to take some shots of them while recording their new album. They were tracking drums and bass at Dark Horse studios in Franklin, TN. I love shooting in recording studios and documenting a bit of the process. Dark Horse is also where I photographed a ton for our record, as well as, The Almost’s Monster Monster album. Here is one of my favorite shots of Colin Rigsby I shot through a window looking in to the drum room. Below that is the, infamous, Tim Skipper. More shots coming soon!
