Last night we played a show in Oklahoma City, OK by ourselves. It was really weird have no opening bands! Last night was a bit unique for us. Thiessen’s voice is still not 100% so we brought in some back up…The one and only Tim Skipper from House Of Heroes! He is a long time friend and came with us to hit some high notes, sing harmony and on some songs, played guitar. Tim was a pleasure to have on the road with us. He did a great job! Thanks again Tim. Another highlight of the night was the rare set we played. We included a bunch of acoustic songs we don’t normally do. It was a good time. Thiessen, despite still being a bit sick, did a great job as well! Here is one of the acoustic songs we did…”Big Trucks” by Pedro The Lion.

Also, here is a video of “Devastation & Reform.” Tim did an awesome job with the pre chorus and chorus of this one. You can see him right behind Hoopes.

A couple days ago, I had the amazing opportunity to photograph my good friend Sarah! She is a great photographer herself so I was excited and nervous to photograph her. Sarah and her husband Chris are gonna be new parents soon so Sarah wanted some pregnancy photos. I was so honored when she asked me because I look up to her so much as a photographer.  We did some shots at her house in front of a big window in her baby room. This window is perfect for blowing out photos! You’ll see what I mean below.  I put up more photos than normal because I am sooooo pleased with this shoot!  Oh…yes, I did make her get into the baby crib.

My friend, Peter, is starting a local business with his friend, Dustin.  They asked me a while back to take some shots for them for their new website!  After figuring out dates with my recording/show schedule and when they work, we locked something down the other day and I think I got some good stuff for them to use.  I’m really stoked on the first 2 shots!  I wanted to get more of a documentary/one frame feel with them, not so posed.  I think I got what I wanted.  The second shot is them conducting business and I added the lens blur at the last min.  Lens blur has become my new buddy.  I try not to overuse it.  I know, Jered, fake tilt shift.  I wanted to better separate their sides of the room.  Anyhow, check out what East Nashville Rhythm is all about!  Thanks to Peter & Dustin for being patient with me!
